I was honored to have been selected to host a #DisneySide #DisneyKids preschool playdate last weekend. If you are unfamiliar with the #DisneySide campaign, it’s about showing your Disney side. The wonderful pixie dusted magic that Disney brings out in you. This time around, it was focused on the young crowd. The Disney Junior preschool kids. My children, and their friends, are quite the Disney Kids, so I knew that this would be a great opportunity for them to have fun. We just went to Disneyland in September.. but they are already aching to return. This playdate helped relieve a little bit of that.
Our wonderful friends at Disney and their partners sent us a kit filled to the brim with party planning supplies and fun extras. My children especially loved the Disney themed fruit snacks. (I’m one of those mean parents that doesn’t let them have that sort of treat on a regular basis..) Our box was Mickey Mouse Club House themed.. perfect for my 3 year old. A huge Mickey Mouse fan (That is the one and only character he broke out of his sensory shell for at Disneyland!)
I got the house prepped for our friends to join us and once everyone arrived there was much fun to be had. We, naturally, had to play the DJ Shuffle CD. Watching the kids dance and sing along to that was hilarious. So much energy in tiny little bodies. The kids enjoyed the Disney Side Bingo.. and especially loved the fact that nearly all of them BINGO’d at the same time.
The Chore Charts were a huge hit.. though, mostly for the parents who loved the idea.
Naturally, the social media mom in me had to set up a Selfie Station.. complete with Holiday Mickey and Minnie cut out to pose with. The kids definitely enjoyed that. I’m not sure that many of them knew what a “selfie” was… but they do now! I’m sure the parents are thrilled.
After snacks and some playing with each other.. we burned some sugar filled energy playing Disney Junior Super Stretchy. Now that was fun and entertaining!
We love having friends over – and it was even better being able to show our friends how amazing Disney is, even for the youngest crowd. (We even had 3 babies in attendance who were equally as thrilled to show their Disney Side..) I am proud to be raising Disney Kids. You should all go look at the #DisneySide and #DisneyKids hashtags on your social media channels to see how others are showing their Disney Side and to get fun ideas for Disney Themed parties!
Thank you, Disney, for this dose of preschool fun!
